Our training team have many years experience between them within the caring industry , we take our jobs as mental health first aid trainers very seriously.
we are training you to maybe the first contact with someone that may be in crisis , our aim to to help you gain the tools required to keep both yourself and the person you are helping safe
Our aim at mental health first is to help educate people to recognise symptoms of mental illness and to provide the training required to help with signposting to the appropriate professional help
Knowing how to help someone in mental health crisis can be daunting , knowing what to say , what to do , not wanting to make the situation worse .
Ask yourself what you would say to someone that you believed was thinking about suicide.
Research shows that it is better to ask the question " are you having thoughts of suicide?’.
Even the language that we use such as committing suicide , something that can be said naturally can be unhelpful as the word committing relates to when suicide was a seen as a crime or a sin

This course will give you the tools to be able to help with a situation such as this.
All training staff have attended the course themselves and have completed an instructor training course delivered by MHFA ENGLAND approved national trainers.
Trainers are only approved after they have delivered a required amount of courses
Your lead trainer has been working within the mental health industry for over 10 years qualifying as a counsellor in 2008 working within his own private practise dealing with many issues including sexual trauma , depression and PTSD.
He is a member of the British association of counsellors and psychotherapists
He also trained to post graduate level in psychotherapy and now works as a mental health advisor within the construction industry
